The property has been in the Pain family for 105 years with cattle ranching being the primary use of the land. The large Hall Building "GRANDVIEW LODGE" located on the property has been used as a Special Event Venue for the past 24 years operated by the family as well. The types of events held are Weddings, Reunions, Old Time Fiddler campouts and dances, Liberal Rally with Premier Gordon Campbell present, Square Dancing, Bi-annual Harvest Hoedown, Community Dances, Artist displays and workshop facilities. A large camping area is available close to the hall building. During the Liberal Rally with Premier Gordon Campbell present, there were approximately 500 attendees who came out for the Backyard Barbecue. The Lodge operation is operated under a Limited Company- 0818995 B.C. Ltd dba Grandview Acres. Rick & Ada Mogge, owners of the property oversee the operations of the facility.
GRANDVIEW LODGE (hall building)
On the acreage within 100 feet of the paved road leading to the property lies a large lodge building which was formerly used as a ski lodge for one of the earliest ski resorts in the Kamloops area. The 1 storey hall building is approximately 2400 sq. ft and includes SEATING FOR 150 PERSONS, a COMMERCIAL KITCHEN, BARBECUE FACILITY, STAGEAREA, FIREPLACE, BAR and full INDOOR BATHROOM FACILITIES. The building was erected 50 years ago and has had continuous upgrades.
The hall building is surrounded by acreage suitable for WALKING, EXPLORING, PHOTOGRAPHY, BIRDWATCHING and GENERAL SITE SEEING. An abundance of WILDLIFE and WILDFLOWERS may be seen for most of the summer months. Several lakes are nearby for your FISHING pleasure.
For the comfort of your PETS, a designated area has been set aside for their use. An abundance of space is allowed for EXERCISING YOUR ANIMALS.
A large PARKING LOT is adjacent to the Lodge.
These premises are very picturesque being part of the grasslands of the Kamloops area. Cattle are generally within viewing distance and wildlife often seen.
